My O2 XDA Atom

Lately the mobile phone vendors have been applying for mobile phone storage card if connected with a PC or laptop using a data cable. This has advantages because we do not need to open the phone (not for hotswap memory card) and remove memory card, memory card can be seen directly in the PC and even mobile phone is going directly be recognized as a storage card.

This is not experienced by the user or users O2 Atom PDA and Pocket PC in general, where the user must move out the memory card from the PDA if they want to add file or transfer data from PC to PDA and vice versa. All PDA with any operating system (OS) experience with such things, but this is not experienced for the PDA that has been upgraded it's OS to WM6 Professional. Because this application has been included in this upgrade version.

But for those of you who need the memory card can be detected in the PC via the USB data without move out the memory card from it's slot, you need third-party applications called WM5torage.

To keep your PDA or Pocket PC memory card readable and writable when connected with your PC via cable data, then the steps are as follows:

• Download via 4sahred or ziddu
• Open the application, check [v] on the choice Removable Class
• In the options choose DSK1: / SD Memory Card
• Activate the tab to activate the
• Press to deactivate deactivate

Now you can transfer files / data without having to remove memory card from your PDA.

O2 has released an application that is very interesting and useful, especially for pocket PC users who is to lazy to take the stylus for typing SMS. Application name is O2 Smart Text. You have read the post about O2 Backup and open the link I provided, they will find this application.

Tiny Twitter

This is the most popular one. If you love twitter and love tweeting from your mobile device, but don't want to get dinged for updates and double dinged for friend updates continually arriving via SMS, you can use this freeware. It is great, but, when a tweet is posted, it automatically says 55 mins ago, and counts upward; should say 0 Seconds ago. But it doesn't automatically add the creator as one of my following.

This freeware is made by Trinket Software. Twikini offers a powerful and efficient way to use Twitter on your phone. It conveniently updates your favorite feeds in the background, and leverages the camera, GPS, media, touch screen, keyboard, graphics and storage capabilities of your device. this app uses less memory than tiny twitter, Twikini usues between 100-200kb while Tiny twitter is at 1000-2000kb, so it is faster. Many people have yet to run into any problems really. Only thing I find is that an internet connection error message appears if your tweet begins with quotation marks. Other than that its perfect. Fast, light on memory and battery consumption, takes advantage of nearly every twitter feature and is very user friendly.

A neat little app that posts a picture to Flickr and Links to it on Twitter. TwitterMyFlickr is a neat little app that posts a picture to Flickr and Links to it on Twitter.

One day a while back I was wondering how to share some photos from my Windows Mobile phone on Twitter. I looked at various things, but realised that I really wanted them on Flickr too! So I came up with this Application.

So this is really easy. Install the CAB file above, just copy it to your device and click on it in File Manager.

Next Find the little green icon in your Programs folder that says TwitterMyFlickr.

• When TwitterMyFlicker launches you can select an exisiting picture or take a new Snap!
• Then just enter some info about the photo (if you want);
• and a Tweet (if you don’t just the link will be posted);
• and enter your Twitter account details and click Upload!
• Then if this is the first time you’ve FlickrMyTwitter you’ll see a Flickr web page. Log in, it’ll give the application access to your Flickr account.
• When it’s logged in click Continue.
• Then a couple of moments later you’ll get a message with your Tweet and the TinyURL for you picture. Oh and it’ll be posted on Twitter!
• Finally, if you want to save your credentials, click Menu and then Save Accounts
• Menu and Change Picture lets you change the picture if you go wrong.
• Menu and Quit closes the app

To install a modem driver on the O2 Atom, the following ways that can be followed to install the modem driver PDA or Smart phone. This step is under way to install GRAPHITE O2 Modem Driver on Windows XP SP2 with ActiveSync version 4.5 and the SIM card.

Step as follows:

• Make sure that GPRS is active and has been set, so that can be used to surf the internet via hand phone. Also make sure that the hand phone or PDA in circumstances not connected with the data cable first.
• Disable ActiveSync connection on the computer or laptop.
• Activate the Modem Link of your PDA.
  Start - Programs - Connectivity - Modem Link.
  
  For PDA:
  
  Start - Programs - Modem Link.
  
  On the menu select USB connection, bolts unused rate, Access point name match with the card you use, to empty the PDA, then select Activate.
  
• Then plug-in USB cable, and computer modem will detect it.
• Install the modem driver to your computer or laptop.
• Point at the folder where the modem driver files are stored.
• Right-click My Computer to see whether the modem is not already installed.
• Create a Dial Up Connection.
• Dial, if it is connected, can be directly used in the computer's internet connection

Now your O2 Atom or pocket PC is already to be used as internet modem. So please enjoy.

Of course you already know what GPS is right? GPS or the abbreviation of Global Positioning System, the trend is becoming among the users PDA, pocket PC and smart phone. Evidence, many products are already starting to include GPS in it, and this certainly attract the user to have PDA.

GPS as well as CDMA technology, initially used only by the military, especially in USA. In the development starts the GPS is used widely to be the public can also be used by us. GPS alone is used to determine a direction and coordinate our position. Coordinates are then applied into a map and from there we can then find out we have now is where.

On the PDA, users sometimes have to ask whether the use of GPS requires a balance. The answer is NO, because the GPS in the PDA, in general, directly related to the satellite-satellite that many circulating in the air so do not need to use credit.

Here are the steps to enable GPS in the PDA:

The first thing of course is the PDA you must have a GPS modem in it. PDAs that have built-in GPS with that I know are HTC TYTN II, HTC Touch Diamond, Imate 9502, Mwg Zinc II and Atom V. Mwg For users of O2 Atom, GPS has also been available.
After that you must install the GPS software, there are many outstanding software GPS Garmin, among others, Nusamap, or Mapking. Choose software that does not burden the system too. For international use Garmin.

If you have installed on the PDA, you just turn on the live GPS and if PDA is connected to several satellite and GPS software and map will indicate the position where we are.
One weakness of GPS in the PDA is unable to detect the satellite when we are in the building.

FingerSuite replaces standard menu and message box for Windows Mobile devices. The resulting menus and alert boxes are much more attractive and also easier to use with your finger.

It works (so far) with HTC diamond with out any issues. Well done the DevThe improvements are already implemented in HTC's new TouchFlo3D 2, but will of course not come to our older device.

It also works fine on LG-KS20 wm6. The only bug is that when you tried to reset the device, it didn't works anything after the Confirm Reset dialog appears. So you have to pull out battery for reset.

If you've just installed older version, I strongly recommend you to uninstall and SOFTRESET device before installing new version.

Installation on device is mandatory (if you need more space, delete *_vga.png on QVGA device or *_qvga.png on VGA device from installation folder).

on installation take the cab file that u download place it on your phone and run it using file explorer install it like normal on storage card and then go to programs and run the apps, to customise go to the "settings" part of your phone on the 2nd tab and there will be the icon to change its settings.
