MP3 for Mesage Alert tone on O2 XDA Atom
MP3 cannot be used for sms tone in O2 XDA Atom. I think most of us used .wav format. But for you who use O2 XDA Atom, it is possible to use MP3 file as a message alert. It will be cool so that you will not late to read incoming Message because your alert tone not just tit .. tit or bib.. beb... that often not heard enough. And you never miss an important call again!
:)
You'll need 3rd Party software like Phone Alarm or Ringgo to play mp3s as your SMS ringtones. But I really recomen you to try mRing. I think mRing is better than Ringo, because in some cases Ringo sometimes doesn't ring when there's an incoming call.
mRing will manage your ring tones easily and intuitively in one convenient place and make your O2 XDA Atom really yours with awesome MP3 ring tones included.

By the way the mRing just for SMS tones customization. And you might get some problem when you use it to set your ringtone, especially when your MP3 file is stored at your SD card.
Alternatively you can convert your SMS tone from MP3 format to WAV format using MP3 to WAV converter, and then use wav file as an alert tone by just go to Start>File Explorer>My Device>Windows, just dump the WAV file in Windows without placing it in any folders, if cant find the Windows folder via Activesync try to paste the WAV file in your storage card first then transfer the WAV file from there to your Windows folder using cut and paste.
